What kind of furniture should you buy for your baby?by: Jennifer McAllister
Babies are a joy for all. The arrival of a baby is looked forward to with great anticipation and nervousness. And like grown ups they also need furniture for a more comfortable life. But a baby’s world is so different from an adult’s, which makes the adults a little unsure about what to buy for the baby. However it is not rocket science and a little bit of knowledge would be all that is required. So here we go: -
A baby grows fast and its requirements would keep changing fast, keeping that in mind buy only essential stuff and buy them in stages. Many varieties of furniture are available in the market, a survey would help you get a clearer view of what you would like to buy, compare prices and quality and plan your budget.
There are some items which are essential for every baby, and these are –
Ø Baby Carriage/ Stroller: It makes life easier for the parents and very comfortable for the baby. While choosing the carriage, ensure that you go in for a well-built product with stable wheels and strong metal frame.
Ø Cot/Crib: A cot is a safer option for a baby to sleep in rather than sleeping with parents. It should have railings on all sides so that the baby does not roll over. They can be made according to your specific requirements.
Ø Car Seat: Extremely important if you are going to travel with your baby in a car. It protects your babies from injuries in case of accidents.
Ø Baby Closet: A closet just for the baby ensures that all its stuff like clothes, diapers, accessories, toys and the stuff are stored together which makes them easier to manage.
Ø High Chairs: This is used many times over a period of a day. So ensure that you buy something which would last a few years, is functional and easy to clean and store. A wide base would make it more stable and also see to it that the safety belts are comfortable enough for the baby.
